~
I get alert emails from DC Government and today I received this one. Tomorrow looks like it might be a good day to stay home and clean!
(Washington, DC) – As the Nation’s Capital, the District is frequently the location for special events and demonstrations. On Saturday, August 28, 2010, the District will host four (4) First Amendment rights events.
• Students Finding Solutions (Next Generation) March/Rally
• Tea Party Patriots Rally
• Restoring Honor Rally (Glenn Beck and Sarah Palin)
• Reclaim the Dream March/Rally (National Action Network)
Residents, visitors and commuters are advised to allow for additional travel time. Expect heavy usage of the mass transit systems in the District and be mindful of potential changes in traffic patterns that may impact vehicular movement throughout the city.
[this is good] I would definitely want to avoid going out
with all of that! Home sweet home sounds
like the best option.
I love your photos. I am not sure you would
enjoy me commenting on each and every
one, so let me just state it here! You have
a very good eye. I like the variety of subject
matter, the colors, shapes, angles, all of it.
Sorry I am ignorant of the proper terminology.
I just love perusing your photos.

Sounds like a photo op to me...and just think Emjay...if you took a picture of all the people who think they know how to run this country better, you would not only get caught up on the month behind, but you would probably have enough picture to last until Christmas... :-)

Well....I would love to oppose Palin and Beck...It will be quite confusing to try to figure out who is whom.

nah, I'm with you, Glenn Beck and Sarah Palin? stay away, you might catch something! no one needs to give either one of them any kind of attention.

I see wine and blogging in your future. Maybe you'll catch up on your photo-a-day thingy.

I don't like big crowds - I start to feel very claustrophobic when there are too many people around me.
Thank you so much for the compliments on my photos. I've really enjoyed doing the photo a day project and I've spent quite a bit of time recording, in photos, the changes to my neighbourhood. I will have plenty of images to look through when I'm old!

LOL - yes there will probably be 6 months worth of photo ops between the various protesting groups and their placards.
Posted by: Emjay | 08/27/2010 at 06:25 PM
LOL - I wonder how many people get confused about where they should be meeting and find themselves in the "enemy" camp!
Posted by: Emjay | 08/27/2010 at 06:27 PM
LOL - yes, I don't want to swell the attendance figure!

Well, I definitely see wine ...... I also see washing and the manservant comes back during the week so I have to clean up so he doesn't think I've been a Miss Piggy.

I'm with you about big crowds. I don't like pressing the flesh, especially with angry, shoting people.

Oh no, I will miss the Restoring Honor Rally. (gags)

I know you will be sad you will be hoovering instead of at the Restoring Honor Rally. (snort)

Oh the joys of living in the district. ;-)

Yes, I think it would be a perfect day to stay inside. I'm not much on huge crowds either....I tend to get very cranky very quickly in those situations.

LOL - You've made a clever typo ... even though it is missing an "o", I think it's always best to stay away from gun advocates! :-)

It's a funny mix of rallies ..... I decided to garden before vacuuming - I think that's wiser as I will have dirt in the carpet by this 'arvo.
Posted by: Emjay | 08/28/2010 at 08:33 AM
Never a dull moment really ....... I can't imagine how annoying it must be to work downtown on days like this. The metro, with it's inevitable weekend track work, and extra passengers will be awful to ride.
Posted by: Emjay | 08/28/2010 at 08:35 AM
I get a bit freaked out when I have people all around me and no clear path in any direction. I like to know there's an exit.... Yes, I'm one of those people who always mark in their mind where exits are! LOL. I've decided to garden today (currently having a coffee break) because the weather is glorious - I will have to do the inside chores tomorrow.

The office wheer I worked was/is about 2 bloock east of the WH. I'd often walk to the closed off portion of Pennsylvannia Ave in fron of the WH to take in the cri de coeur du jour. Always entertaining.

And you thought you had problems with drug takers.
I assume the soccer Mom is following rather than leading? Otherwise who knows where they will end up.
I hope you have a Drill Baby Drill flag to welcome her.

He will need consolation upon his return ... I see that the beloved Stephen Strassburg is out for rest of the season (and maybe next year) with an injury.
Posted by: Grouchy Old Man | 08/28/2010 at 03:41 PM
LOL ... I'd prefer the drug users.... I least I know where I stand with them.
Posted by: Emjay | 08/28/2010 at 05:48 PM
I meant to say angry, shouting people, but angry shooting people aren't good either.
Posted by: LBeeeze | 08/28/2010 at 05:52 PM
LOL - I liked it! :-)
